Victoria Ward Designs
PRIVATE CLASSES
FOR WAX CARVING
Express yourself through the art of sculptural jewelry, beginning with wax carving.
Consider making money by knowing what the professional standards are, what is expected, and learn how to get there.
All pictures are finished jewelry by Victoria Ward; her original designs that were originally carved in wax.
The lost wax casting process is an ancient technique and still used today. Learn how to manipulate wax with various tools into a form that is a wax prototype. That exact model will be cast into a precious metal....and voila! ....a small sculptural piece of jewelry!
I’ll guide and encourage you to develop your original style and help you take an idea, to a carved wax form that will be beautiful and balanced. I can also help you with fine finishing of the metal (silver or gold) after it’s been cast.
Whether you are a beginner, or have some jewelry making knowledge, private classes will help you to excel to a new level. Beginners will start with a design without stones, and students with stone setting or fabrication experience can learn how to create a wax to accommodate gemstones.
Information will also cover how to make stacked or fitted parts that are cast separately, and assembled or nestled next to one another. Avoid making costly mistakes. Wax carved designs are ideal for one-of-a-kinds, small production, or mass production. If you want to sell your jewelry designs, be prepared for the professional world
Classes are held in a studio located in Point Loma, near Sunset Cliffs, 2 blocks in from the ocean on private property.
Private classes are $65/hr or $67/hr if paid by credit card.
I will give you my time if you need help with ordering tools.
